For all of you replacing the door latch assembly on a 2002 Tacoma. You must keep the long bolt with the screw on the latch of the door lock from the old assembly. The shank of this shank is not properly formed and does not fit properly in the shank bushing. The good news is that your old rod will fit perfectly into place and should slide back into the sleeve smoothly. In addition, this product fits perfectly and still works perfectly. Added a quality assured satisfying knock to my door when closing and eliminated the humming noise from my old drive motor. Installation was much easier than removal.
