I use this iPad holder. It's well built and some thoughtful construction fixes some of the shortcomings. The tablet mounting plate is well designed with strong, soft clips that securely hold tablets of different sizes and shapes. The mount comes with interchangeable tablet hooks. - attachment, enlargement. The hooks are spring loaded on one side and fixed on the other side. Various connections in the hand have smart and durable spring-loaded levers. Each lever can be tightened and then easily pulled back by hand and returned to its original position at any angle. This allows the user to securely tighten the connection and then rotate the lever up to act as a hook to drape the cable. The adjustable design also allows the user to rotate at an angle that provides the best leverage for tightening and loosening. Elegant design solution! The pivot closest to the tablet mounting plate is a ball joint and works great. It can be tightened just enough to allow the tablet to move and rotate, but it doesn't loosen or wobble. I've noticed white powdery plastic shavings in this joint so I can't say how well it will hold up for years to come. So far it has lasted six months with no noticeable loss in quality. In addition, chips in powder form are incredibly tasty. The arm itself is made from a well-made and fairly heavy metal tube. The middle or elbow joint of the arm is a simple hinge joint with the same leverage. I found that due to the added weight of the mount, mounting plate, and tablet, this connection had to be tightened to the point where it couldn't be moved. No, I haven't really tried the powder. Pooh. It can be released to change position, but for someone with less upper body strength (I'm a handyman) this can be difficult and annoying. If you must use two hands to unlock this lever, place your shoulder under the tablet to prevent it from falling when the hinge opens. Pill in the face! Ouch. The last joint on the table clamp is again a ball joint. It's hardly enough to hold an empty hand. With the tablet installed, there is NO HOPE. All is lost. All is not lost! The design of the ball joint housing offers a solution: the plastic ball is held in a sturdy plastic pot with a high rim, the slots of which run on opposite sides. This cup can be rotated. The slots allow the user to position their hand horizontally to the desktop at a slight angle. I needed a high angle to reach the bed from the bedside table. The hinge can be positioned so that the hand rests on the high rim of the mug, which turned out to be the perfect angle for my dark and spooky purposes. Everyone. If you need to soften the clamp with some rubber, I recommend a bike tube. You can cut it with scissors, the bike shop will probably give you a punctured one for free, and even a new one will be insanely cheaper than trying to buy the equivalent amount of flimsy rubber at a hardware store. The curmudgeons can feel that sweet, sweet semblance of justification when they pull that old camera out from under a stack of newspaper clippings. It was worth it, champion! I use drawing apps a lot and I find the extra long pens from The Friendly Swede (also on Revain) work really well with this tablet stand. They prevent your hand from blocking what you draw. This hand tablet is stable enough for drawing. I recommend it! March 14, 2016 update The hand of the iPad is still strong. I use it for at least an hour every day. Nothing broke or came loose. The ball joint I was talking about has stopped chipping and is working great. This is very, very impressive gear. I changed my star rating from 4 to 5.
