I dye yarn in the ratio of 1 g of dye per 100 g of yarn. I usually use multiple colors per skein, so I need to be able to accurately measure both dye and yarn. I use a small nutshell tray for paint and a larger tray for yarn. On my previous scale, equal parts red and blue did not produce true violet. The volume range is still written as one gram. Having bought this scale with an accuracy of 0.1g, my colors mix properly. When tared, it stores a value that I didn't expect. This is a very reasonable price. It's supposed to weigh 3000 grams, one day I'll see if I can really wrap 30 balls of yarn around it. I think I need a bigger tray.
