Tried multiple times to stop a leak in the van's fire hose. At a pressure of 14 psi and an operating temperature of 212°F, the tape wrapped four times around a 5/8 inch ID hose disintegrated after the temperature was reached. Finally, stainless steel clamps placed over freshly applied tape provided a thermal solution. Looks like good tape but looked stretched and appeared to have lost elasticity on inspection after 4 failed attempts. Maybe it's just the wrong tape for the job. I've used self-adhesive silicone tape for similar applications in the past with great results - not in this case.
