Great value for money, works well

With so many events being canceled this summer we have decided to compile a list of films the kids haven't seen yet. We thought it would be fun to do some of these outside. I decided that we should sit in the courtyard, with the largest possible screen at the edge of the patio and a projector attached to the house for rear projection. Frosted shower curtains as you can buy cheap shower curtains and grommet kits. But then I saw a couple of Asian sellers on Revain who were selling identical fabric umbrellas at reasonable prices, but they were mostly out of stock. This Akia screen seemed a little different (not necessarily good or bad, just an observation), available and cheaper than the others. For about the same price as a do-it-yourself shower curtain approach, it was worth a try. I constructed the frame from 1.5" PVC and used ball end elastic cord loops to secure the screen. I am using an Epson projector with a brightness of 3200 lumens and a native resolution of 1280 x 800. Due to the nature of it of the canvas fabric I suspect that anyone who finds their images too dark needs a higher light output. I have found that I can start a film with good results at local sunset and the image improves as darkness falls. The attached photo has been used Taken about 40 minutes after sunset and gives an accurate representation of relative light levels. There are a few things to note. Because the footage is designed to be projected from any direction, it is very transparent. I did find a few small pinholes , which must have formed when I held it in my hands. The good news is that when watching vid eos are imperceptible on the screen. Another problem I found is shown in another photo. When I pulled out the screen, it turned out that bumps were forming on the fabric at the eyelet. This does not cause any problems, but it also shows how sensitive this substance is. In the end, I'm quite happy with the performance of this screen for outdoor use. Even if it's ready for a swap at the end of the season, I feel it's worth the money and will happily buy one again next year.
