To be honest this is the first beard oil I've ever used so I have nothing to compare it to. But I can tell you what it smells like: cinnamon-nutmeg-hazelnut, like Christmas cookies. I understand they will use the spicy rum flavor so you can pretend to be a pirate, but if your beard is even a tad gray it might just add to your confusion with Santa. The scent isn't overpowering, it just gives off a whiff, which is good because it works its elfin magic right under your nose. My beard is fine and about 3 inches long. I use 4 drops after showering. The product really makes a big difference compared to not using oil. My beard looks much healthier, thicker and feels softer. I am curious to experiment with other oils and fragrances having sold the oil whole but I like the smell of this one enough to buy again. Maybe this is a seasonal thing, which is good during the holidays.
