I'm stuck with an annoying android problem where you change the default keyboard so that google doesn't follow every word you type but also have a phone passcode to unlock it Your phone doesn't because the Google keyboard is disabled. This cable allowed me to bypass the problem by typing on a physical keyboard. All I had to do was connect a keyboard and my phone (moto g7 power) recognized it immediately. It's worth noting that I don't think it will work through a USB hub, but I discovered it by accident and it's not what it's intended for anyway.
