Review on Atomos Shinobi 5 Inch HDMI Monitor by Brandon Rogers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Either there is a used device or things are going downhill with Atomos!

I received my Atomos Shinobi today. Either the Atomos production is going downhill or I received a used unit which the seller is trying to pass off as new which is sad because I was really looking forward to this unit. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that the protective plastic sheet was bubbling, like someone had taken it off and then tried to put it back on. When I looked at the device further, I noticed a few notches on the housing, the threads of the fastening screws at the top and bottom seemed to have been gnawed away from use, and even the device's power cable has white scratches. The same applies here: If the quality of Atomos does not decrease, I have received a used device. That's why I'm giving one star! I used to have an Atomos Ninja and loved it. The quality seemed much better, but maybe the key came back when I ordered it from a more reputable store (photos and videos from BH) and not an Amazon seller.
