Best 5 " monitor for the money.

Atomos products are the best in the business in my opinion. I've worked with Ninja Inferno. I have an SSD to capture footage I needed a monitor that gives me the features I need to capture the footage the way I want it. Shinobi is exactly the monitor I was looking for. I also recommend purchasing an accessory kit. for Shinobi, the one Includes sun visor, two extra batteries and a charger, and a durable carry case.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Crumpled

Auto flip screen? on video monitors

I like everything about it except the tiny onscreen buttons that are hard to press and the fact that when I flip the monitor over so the customer can see what's in the frame, the screen doesn't automatically displayed (e.g. focus on a small hd and you're done). So I turn the monitor over and then try to find the tiny flip button on the screen that is upside down. Please fix with firmware. That being said I had a smallhd focus that just decided not to turn on on occasional use and they basically

Bright, Feature Packed, and Lightweight

I live in sunny Southern California and love the brightness of this monitor in daylight. I don't use the hood with it, but that's because I don't need it. This is my first Atomos product and I've had good experiences with it so far. I am using it with a bmpcc 4k and I find that this type of monitor is necessary due to the camera's blurry screen. than 5 minutes at a time. If you're shooting in direct sunlight with no shadows, I would recommend turning the device off between shots. Overheat…

Great monitor suitable for lighting and studio

This monitor is fantastic - its colors are accurate and its brightness is second to none. I didn't need a recording feature, so Shinobi was the obvious choice, especially considering the prices of other "professional" monitors (given your SmallHD). I'm very happy with the inclusion of Shinobi in my setup. A few things that immediately bother me after a few sessions: - The menus are nicer than most monitors I've used, but are still a bit clunky. . Come on guys, can't we hire a UX consultant for…

I received my Atomos Shinobi today. Either the Atomos production is going downhill or I received a used unit which the seller is trying to pass off as new which is sad because I was really looking forward to this unit. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that the protective plastic sheet was bubbling, like someone had taken it off and then tried to put it back on. When I looked at the device further, I noticed a few notches on the housing, the threads of the fastening screws at

Think of accessories!

I take photos with a Sony a7iii. While this camera has a very bright monitor, the monitor in the camera is low resolution and very, very small. I've compared this monitor to small HD monitors and the Shinobi's features seem to outperform it. I'm giving 4 stars because sometimes I can't communicate properly with my camera - it may be an issue with my settings, but overall this monitor was GREAT! The packaging was rough and I was concerned about the condition of the shinobi. It was sent by…

Difficult to photograph.

This device might be best after the bread cutting for video types, but it's advertised as a still and video monitor. My main focus is photography - night photography. So after two nights connected to a Nikon Z 6 in a SmallRig L bracket with add-ons, I'm not a happy camper. First Pros: This is the only setting I can use to enlarge the Z6's camera. monitor and gives me enough magnification and monitor IQ high enough to be sure to focus on the star the first time. THAT'S A BIG PLUS! Now for the…
