Review on Atomos Shinobi 5 Inch HDMI Monitor by Mark Jefferson
Bright, Feature Packed, and Lightweight
I live in sunny Southern California and love the brightness of this monitor in daylight. I don't use the hood with it, but that's because I don't need it. This is my first Atomos product and I've had good experiences with it so far. I am using it with a bmpcc 4k and I find that this type of monitor is necessary due to the camera's blurry screen. than 5 minutes at a time. If you're shooting in direct sunlight with no shadows, I would recommend turning the device off between shots. Overheat durability worries me, but so far it's working without issues.
