What I like about this gate is that the door is made of transparent plexiglass. It was a little tricky to install and I will definitely need to order extensions for the sides of this gate as they barely reach each side of the first rung of our stairs. Because of this, it slides and slides. It can also sometimes be difficult to open since it is new. When open, it can sometimes fall out of the bracket that helps keep it on the wall. I also strongly recommend screwing the round brackets into place as the glue that came with it stripped the paint off the walls and stair posts. However, it helps our pets and children not to go upstairs unsupervised. I really think this goal will work much better if we have extra time for each side.
