I found it a good buy compared to similar lighted magnifying mirrors. Installation requires some technical know-how, as you have to be willing to drill behind the wall and plug in an electrical box to hide the power cord, but the end result is well worth it. The magnification is spot on too - there are other mirrors with 10x magnification, which I think is probably well beyond what anyone looking at you can see. With 5X, you can pluck and realistically explore your pores and imperfections. In addition, this mirror is available in several finishes; I chose chrome to match the fixtures in my bathroom. Highly recommended. I've only had a few weeks so can't comment on durability or ease of life.
