Review on Axle Release Conversion Kit 3 8 Inch by Jon Manning

The concept is good. Unfortunately, the performance still leaves a lot to be desired. The quick release axle lock comes with 26 dpi threaded nuts. The replacement nuts in this conversion kit should allow the quick release to be used with 24tpi axles or bolts. In reality, as you can see in the photo, the nuts are about 1/4 inch longer, although they should be the same length. To compensate for the extra length I had to fabricate 2 spacers in the machine shop, 8mm thick with 20mm OD and 12mm ID. The result can be seen in the 2nd photo. The quick release function works but they stick out 20mm more than the original design Also the holes were originally too small for the quick release lever. I had to drill more of these to be able to use them. I hope the seller sees this review and sends me 24t/d nuts that work out of the box without my modifications. I will revise my review if/when they do.
