Cool Lights - Nice Basic Speakers

I bought this speaker to match my fancy new gaming PC and keyboard with similar RGB lighting. When I bought it, I was used to the majority of the sound going through the headset, which I really like! So I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fancy speakers. I just wanted something simple, but it looked like it would go with everything else. Appearance is almost perfect and exactly what I wanted. It fits nicely in the niche under my Acer monitor. It's easy to use, just turn it on and off or record directly on the device without having to keep track of accessories. I had 2 problems with this speaker. Firstly, if you have a digital speaker connection for 7.1 audio and as I just assume it will work, I'm sorry to say it won't. Since it was the only other audio port, I had to juggle the headset with the front audio ports and use the headphone jacks on the back for the speaker. My cat walked by, thinking my favorite headset cord dangling from the side of my computer was his personal toy, and chewed on the adapter in one go, so everything had to be plugged in at the back to keep him [and the cat] to protect . . To deal with this I bought a USB to 3.5mm adapter and now use it as a USB device. The second issue was that I found that this device still wouldn't connect to my front audio ports. This was fine for general system noise or listening to YouTube music. But it couldn't handle World of Warcraft. When I logged in it just made this annoying whining noise and I couldn't handle it. I tried turning the volume down to the lowest difficulty but it didn't help at all. The aching noise wasn't as noticeable when plugged in from the back, it was quiet enough not to be annoying but still present. Seems to clean up completely after I switched it to USB. I suspected that either there was something on their end or my end of the connector wasn't shielded properly and that's why the speaker was getting feedback. I'm grateful the issue is resolved, otherwise it would have made the speaker a lot less useful to me. I've found that since I set up the speaker properly, I now enjoy channeling my gaming sounds through the speaker and using my headset to listen to music or chat. Discord. As a result, the sounds of the game have become more voluminous, they no longer compete for my attention with dissonances. The quality of this speaker is fit for purpose although as I like it so much and use it so much I now see a need for a better set so I think I might consider it in the future. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, it was quite good for the price - even though I had to fork out another $10 for a USB adapter I ended up getting everything I wanted.
