I started using it for my work PC along with a USB-C PD power adapter. It passes through the DisplayPort signal coming over USB C, adds Ethernet, USB A and other ports. This is a simple 1-cable docking station. I ended up getting another one that better suited my specific needs (saving me the display dongle and adding an SD slot), but then it turned my relatively old Samsung S9+ into a media controller for my DAC. A simple single USB-C does the same thing for this phone, allowing me to connect to my NAS and DAC over USB via Ethernet and deliver power over a single cable. Since it is a cable and USB-C is still widely used, I can easily switch phones. That works great!
