Okay, I should start my review by saying that the purchasing decision was based on numerous factors that required careful consideration. 1.) I wanted G-Sync. 2.) I wanted the excellent color quality I can get from an IPS monitor. .3.) I wanted it to be bigger than my 22 inch screen which I've been using since 2004. 4.) I wanted to be able to calibrate it to do small amateur jobs in Photoshop, video editing and motion graphics when I feel the need. There are many monitors these days, but not all of them can do everything you need. Some monitors are great for gaming, but colors appear washed out when watching movies. Some monitors are great for video editing and photography, but add significant latency in games and also don't support NVIDIA's gsync technology, which eliminates screen tearing without sacrificing frame rate. I needed something that combined the best of both worlds. Either that or Asus. Dell doesn't currently have a Gsync monitor that will deliver what I want and to be honest there aren't many monitor options when it comes to choosing G-Sync and screen size (currently ASUS and ACER Predator were two I go for had to). . Make your choice. Although I hadn't seen an Asus monitor with my friends, I knew the Acer would be the best choice for me. Despite being a bit more expensive, generally positive reviews and some complaints about the build quality made me buy the monitor. Does it match the reviews? Yes, yes, it fits. First with the shipment I received. Thank goodness no dead pixels! Out of the box, the monitor is pretty easy to assemble and the stand is very solid. sits high, has a hinge that you can turn. I don't really adjust the position of my monitor too much, so I'm not sure if the stand is height adjustable. Don't be put off by the red legs either. As other reviewers have said, it's more of a deep red color and not really noticeable. capable. Also, you spend most of your time looking at the screen, not at your feet. You'll need to color calibrate the monitor, but don't let that intimidate you. By default, it's slightly orange and warm. If you search for monitor color calibration on YouTube, you will find a video that suits your needs. One of the slightly annoying things I found about this monitor is that it has built-in speakers. Usually you don't want to use them and have to turn them off or set the volume to zero, then go into the volume mixer settings and make sure you set the output to speakers and not monitor sound. Sometimes your computer "forgets" that you switched audio to speaker playback. So if you can't hear any audio, be sure to double-check your volume mixer. Also, the monitor menu isn't very intuitive, so you could accidentally close the menu when you want to go back to something else. How do games and movies look like? Well when I downloaded Battlefield 1, enabled G-Sync and increased the resolution my text and graphics went from a blurry mess to sharp, crisp and beautiful beautiful graphics, games like battlefield, the division, the witcher 3, i could see crisp detail like the fibers on clothing, detail on weapons and a great display of the sky and lighting, just mind blowing I started Battlefield 1 single player and completed the mission on a plane where you fly over London. If that doesn't make your jaw drop, nothing is going to happen (or you already have a high-end monitor). Of course, you can see all this on a regular Ohm monitor with a smaller screen, but a larger monitor allows you to see a lot more detail than you can imagine. just not visible on the small screen. In addition, the complete absence of screen tearing makes everything smooth, without any lag or stuttering. (Note that these settings are limited by your graphics card and processor. I've had smooth gameplay on a 980 Ti with a 6700k Skylake processor. If you plan to run these games at max settings on a lower card, this might work for They stutter.) Watching movies and TV series in HD is an amazing experience, like sitting on my couch and watching on the big screen. As someone who squinted to see detail on a 22-inch monitor, switching to a 27-inch monitor was a revelation and well worth the money. But remember this was a big upgrade for me. If you've already played HD games on a 1920 x 1080 monitor, you might not notice much of a difference. But I definitely have, especially with the G-Sync feature where screen tearing used to be noticed everywhere. There's nothing quite like seeing a wall split in half when you turn around in Dishonored 2 or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. such a job. I would recommend this monitor to gamers, casual movie buffs, and movie buffs. In the end it was a significant upgrade that I have no regrets about. It's expensive, but what I needed, I got great bang for my buck.
