Review on Control PlayStation 4 by Kio Walker ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

Played on Xbox Game Pass. I'm glad I didn't buy it on CD. Quantum Break was a hard-hitting sci-fi that was passed in one breath, and in Control, the authors hit the mystique and turned out to be dregs. For a long time, the player will not understand at all what is happening on the screen and why the main character suddenly starts killing everyone and everything, who the enemies are and why what is happening is happening. All this raises only the question - is this even happening? Perhaps, the calculation is that everything will be explained further, but until this moment you still need to sit out. Apparently, this is why in the game you can turn on the immortality mode in the settings without cheats (!) - the developers realized in advance that not everyone can handle the need to sit out, and even suffer, killing opponents. Personally, he did not help me, and he abandoned it, having passed 15-20 percent. The atmosphere is oppressive - all levels are in black and red gloomy colors, some kind of evil spirits that appears from nowhere, and even self-respawns when you leave the location. Yes, everything is worked out with high quality, but when everything is in the same colors, the variety is lost, everything seems the same. It can be seen that a lot of effort has been put into the game - the elaboration of details, thousands of dialogues, a million invented texts of emails, notes and other things that are scattered across all levels, the incredible destructibility of the environment, which allows total chaos in the location in any shootout. But all this does not save. I would very much like to see something similar from these developers, but without mystical crap. Just a good-looking action movie with coolly staged skirmishes.

Pros
  • - graphic arts - destruction of everything and everything - available (at the time of writing) with an Xbox subscription for almost free - developer attention to detail
Cons
  • - dull plot - the atmosphere of the game is depressing
