Review on Cavallo Horse Rider Trek Regular by Isaac Maze

I bought this as a safety boot for my mare who had a hoof abscess. I ordered the Trek Regular Six 6. What I like: These boots are very easy to use. I like that the shoe can be used on any hoof. I love that it can be adjusted to accommodate different toe wall inclinations due to the Velcro front flaps. I also like that it's breathable and has drainage holes. Unfortunately the boot did not fit my horse. The heel of these boots was a bit higher than my mare's heel, so there was too much movement (e.g. you try on shoes with too much heel clearance and the heel keeps slipping while walking). Even though the hoof is made for the same wide and long hoof, it still tapers from edge to toe (where my mare's hooves are very round), so the boot kept turning a quarter turn and against the heel rubbed tubercles. I measured the inside dimensions of this boot; Size sideways 6 1/4, front to back 6 1/4, "corner" to "corner" 6 7/8" so slightly more than company sizing info. I also had some issues with the material sank into the top of the boot so I tried making the toe of the boot out of veterinary wrap but it didn't work. Hoof. I ended up with a pair of original Renegade style boots that worked great thanks to the adjustable heel counter. I have not tried Easyboots although I know some models are wide.
