My dog has just been treated and the vets gave us a large plastic cone. He was afraid of him and refused to move with him. After speaking to the vet and then advising against it because they said he could still get at his cut, I went ahead and ordered it. My dog is about 70 pounds, very prehensile and has a short neck so I ordered XL. The cone is perfect for him. He can't reach the incision and seems a little more comfortable in it. The only problem is that it loses a little air but that doesn't bother me as we only really make him wear it when we go out.
