The umbrella, when extended fits just over our rectangle outdoor table. We easily place 2 armed chairs on each "long" side of the table and add one chair at each end of our table to seat six people. This umbrella is rectangle in shape and the edges reach to the end of the table only. The people seated at the end of the table are not covered by the umbrella, but the table's top is (barely). The tilt function is nice. The pole itself is metal, but the "fittings" are plastic (the "knob" at the top and the piece you use to lift the umbrella into place as well as the knob to adjust the height). It is cumbersome to raise and lower. You cannot lower the umbrella to a closed position if you do not have the pole completely extended. We like to have the umbrella in a lower than fully extended position, so the shade is closer to our heads when seated. Fully extending pole to lower the umbrella is a pain. For less than a hundred dollars, I'm keeping it, but I would have spent a little more for a different umbrella if I'd known I had to fully extend the pole to lower the umbrella. The color is as pictured. The canopy is nicely edged.
