Review on Merrell Womens Haven Black Medium by Jessica Lawson

When I received the package in the mail I was concerned that the coat would be too light for the cold New England winters. But after wearing it for a week, I found that it was even slightly hot outside (over 45 degrees), almost too hot. The coat appears to retain your body heat which is why it is so warm. But when you run to catch the bus or drink hot tea on the way and your body temperature rises, I have to unzip the zipper a bit to cool down! Let's see what happens when it's 20 degrees outside. I've been looking for an alternative to the giant puffy coat and I think this is definitely the coat that will replace the marshmallow look. I'm a size 0-2 (bust is smaller but a little swag) and I bought a very small size and it fits perfectly. The coat is not bulky and I like buttons that are less functional and more decorative. What I don't like is the flash. While double zips don't usually bother me, I find that placing the zip on top of excess fabric and stiff material makes it really difficult. Maybe it just takes time to figure it out, but it's been two weeks and I'm struggling with it a lot. Also, the placement of the pockets is a bit awkward as they run vertically along the outseam of the visible front pocket rather than diagonally, so I use the front welt pockets instead.
