I've only used it once but my 10kg cat fit in it and had enough room to roll around - I think a really big cat would get crushed in it. I would never carry my pets in a carrier without putting a hand under the carrier to steady them - so it's that simple - I could hold them in front of me, close to me without worrying about them shifting emotional. I'm SO happy with it. I don't know if you'll fit it under an airplane seat, but you can attach it to a car seat so the wearer doesn't move in an accident. The mesh allows you to see clearly from all 4 sides so my kitty felt safe but could see the sounds. I think that made her calmer. It fits easily in your lap, so you don't have to put it on the vet's waiting bench with other animals drooling or whatever. I'm very happy with it and hope it lasts a long time. Maybe do it in color?
