Review on 🐠 Eheim PHL207184, 4.00 x 6.00 x 4.00, Black: Superior Quality Aquarium Accessory by Shashi Jain

In a nutshell: very disappointed, returned immediately. This pump wasn't broken per se, but it didn't work AT ALL. It was not even possible to operate a single bubbler decoration from both air outlets combined with a T-shaped valve. We have a 40 gallon freshwater aquarium for an axolotl. For the last few years we have still used an extremely cheap unbranded air pump that was designed for our previous 10 gallon starter tank when our Axie was tiny. It works great and produces enough air but is very noisy. I did a lot of research and decided that the Eheim pump would be the best replacement based on the many positive reviews (both consumer and professional) and the promise of near silent operation. I received this pump today and have already processed the return. It lived up to expectations in one respect: it's a quiet whisper. However, this is mainly because he is ridiculously weak. This pump is rated for a tank half the size of mine and still can't even feed one of our existing bubblers. I have not attempted to use the diffusers that came with this pump as the product description states that it is "capable of powering a wide range of aeration accessories including air powered decorations". I connected it to my only existing main decoration. He couldn't even create a single bubble. There was no water backflow or kinks in the lines and connecting my old pump to the same air hose/set worked fine. Just a shame it's supposed to be too strong for my pool size and yet pales in comparison to one that's supposedly not strong enough for it. Thinking we just had a completely faulty device that isn't producing air (otherwise why wouldn't there be a ONE bubble), we tried running it without tubing and could feel air, but it was a very weak flow. We tried following the advice in the owner's manual and hooked up both outlets to a T-valve with the hose provided, using the combo outlet to try and turn on our single bubbler. But absolutely nothing, although with no hoses connected I can feel the airflow. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone trying to use it with anything other than maybe the included air balls. I didn't try them as I knew I would be returning this product and didn't want to ruin it, but I suppose the pump should at least be compatible with the accessories that came with it. At this point I wouldn't even believe it. It is absolutely NOT compatible with other accessories or air decorations. Save Money: It's quiet but impractical.
