Also good is that the inlet filter can be replaced with the green one that comes with the eheim filter (or one from the 494 kit). I use the bottom sponge to wrap the filter. Marineland Aquaria AMLPR1280 Pre-Filter Aquarium Cut in half and the sponge can be placed on 2 screen filters. This allows me to quickly change the screen when changing the water/cleaning the tank.
