The emerging artist is here!

As an aspiring acrylic artist, I needed a solid reference to improve my drawing skills in class. I was fortunate to be in the class of a professor who shares the same philosophy of art as I do; Starting with still lifes, he limited experimentation with color palettes and optical illusions, but then let us go in our own creative directions – once we mastered the basics. He also encouraged us to go out and "see" art; because it's not the same as just looking at art on the internet. Viewing a real work of art in a museum or art gallery is like inspiration because a person "sees" the strokes of paint that create an image on canvas, wood or brass. It is interesting to know that all kinds of colors can be used to create any image. Viewing watercolor, oil, and acrylic work is important in understanding your ability to apply paint to canvas. Our little world of acrylic paints is, in my humble opinion, the best because the paints are so durable, dry quickly, and can be repainted over and over again at the artist's request. The tools that can be used are also interesting. for "painting" like brushes, which are the most predictable and easiest types of tools, but you can also try painting with a palette knife, foam blobs, airbrush, rollers, and other grit tools like pieces of wood. You can improve your creative expression by trying to draw with a fork, knife or spoon. Improvisation is scary too; Page 42 introduces the idea of putting acrylic paint in a piping bag and putting it through a standard piping tip and - yes - I'm going to try this technique in the new year! What fun it will be! Drawing is fun; it's a further extension of who I am as a person who cares about beauty in this world and I also care about those around me. Painting is all about color - Painting is all about color because color is an emotion. Painting is all about symbolism and metaphor, and it takes patience and a lot of time to bring emotion to the viewer's eyes. I love this book and will read it again tonight! the formal study of painting; I was glad to get it at Revain.com's discounted price of $16 for such an offer!
