The product was described as new on the website. In fact, it looks like he was dragged behind a car for a while; many scratches and scrapes. It is also very loud when switched off. Either the HD or the fan makes noise and always feels hot. My 7 year old TIVO is in great condition. I don't like the new UI, it tries to be too intuitive and looks a bit cluttered. I'm still testing it, but I doubt how long it will last. I call Weakknees for advice but no answer and no call back. UPDATE: August 31 First, our apologies to the Weak Knees. Apparently there was some kind of temporary outage on the phone. You have been more than helpful over the past few weeks; quick reply, patient, polite. (I received nothing for fixing this appreciated bug other than good service.) My Bolt works fine and there is a way to roll back the update that installs the new UI. If you wish, you can use the old reliable Tivo interface. BUT the device is still very noisy and constantly warms up, 96 - 105 degrees, even when idling. Since the refurbished bolt is a few years old and the original is HD, how long will it last? So how is HEAT the enemy of Laptop HD? I'm not a techie, just a cautious buyer, so on the advice of others I'm sending this bolt back to Amazon. I might swap it out for a new one just to see if it gets any better.
