I have read extensive reviews of this product and was not happy with the results. Reviews, particularly for cruises, said these handhelds work great on vessels of all sizes and that range isn't an issue. I recently took an 8 day cruise on one of Royal Caribbean's medium and small ships and had a TERRIBLE welcome. Our group was only 2 floors above us and when one of the parties was in their rooms we could not communicate on portable phones. In terms of communications on the ship, we would be lucky if we could communicate with each other on the same deck, but if we were on the other side of the ship the reception would be minimal at best. We tried using them in different ports, but when we were more than half a mile apart we couldn't communicate. Very very disappointed with the quality of these notebooks. DO NOT recommend her for a cruise, terrible! Battery life ranged from a day to a day and a half with occasional use. Again disappointing.
