. I spend a lot of time hiking and really use my bags. While these shorts are very light and airy, I'm not sure how the back elastic will feel after hours of walking with a heavy backpack. They're a good size for me, and the rustling sound is sure to alert wild animals to my presence. What I didn't like so much were the pockets. I like having my phone within reach (great views, wildlife) but my phone doesn't fit in my pockets. Also, it was odd to feel the weight of the phone on the front of the leg. Side cargo pockets are much more convenient and practical (IMO). The velcro straps on the pockets were very prickly and noisy.
