A very functional organizational tool that looks great too! …. I believe most people looking at this product will have something to do with computers or electronics; not me. I repair and restore luxury watches. I stumbled across this article while looking for a simple countertop trim. As it turned out, it was exactly what I needed and gave me a lot more for about the same price. First, I'm terribly disorganized so I can use whatever helps me focus on what I need, where I need it. That. And while this article would look a little different if it was supposed to be a watch repair, it really isn't that much. I found it had enough small drawers and compartments to keep all my tools, compounds and abrasives in very good condition. Since space was very limited, it became my most important tool as it allowed me to build a canvas around the logical center. As you can see from the photos (sorry I'm better at restoring clocks than taking photos :)), I'm now taking everything I could need for the project and building my perfect little workshop on the table. I ended up with a big, natural flow. I sorted my stuff by need and how often I would reach for it. And even very small watch essentials now have a safe place without spending more money on branded storage cases. Even the 3 valve areas on the top right have been repurposed to hold the ports I need for this project. On the right side there are 4 "handles" for storage that have built in magnets for very small metal objects, but since the clock and magnets don't look very similar I just cut out a small slot on the back and pulled the Out. A pleasant surprise was how easy this rug is to clean. I really expected it to have some cling to dirt, lint etc, especially in the drawer openings. It's not... just use a dry or damp microfiber cloth and it'll be clean in no time! And I found another embedded gem; I fill one of the wells with liquid watch cleaner and soak dirty parts like the bracelet and tube pins. When I'm done, I just soak up all the liquid with a microfiber cloth. I've also found additional tools such as stud screwdrivers, installed felt wheels, etc. that I can install by simply drilling additional holes in the mat. My next step was to buy a plastic storage bin under the bed big enough for the mat to fit in. while most tools and compositions remain on the mat. Now that I'm done I just take the mat and the tools and everything and put it in the case, add all the extra connections and stuff in the case, snap the lid off and it goes in the closet! It couldn't be easier or more precise. I'm sure no matter what your needs are, this inexpensive gem will help you stay neat and organized.
