Bought these to replace a 55w H3 Halogen/Xenon Fog Light Kit. These lights are much brighter than the H3 and the distance they emit light is better too. The mounting brackets are also more durable; and eliminates (almost) all the vibrations I had with my old headlights. The lamp body is made of metal, the end caps are made of (really hard) plastic, the lenses are made of clear plastic. The end caps are attached with 3 (approx) 1" hex head screws that are securely fastened to the case. The lens fits very snugly to the flashlight body and is then secured with 4 hex head screws. connects to the body/body with rubber gaskets, the diffuser is sealed to the body/body with 2 silicone gaskets Waterproof I can't say but they are VERY waterproof : I stuck a transparent amber film on the lenses to make them look more like fog lights, that Light is so bright that there is no amber film.
