The crystal is heavier than expected. It appears to be SHAPED in the shape of a blown crystal. The pattern does not appear to be engraved into the glass but is created when it is poured or blown from the glass. I bought this to keep all my recipes on a side table - about 1/2 inch below the top of my tablet. Bottles are the perfect height for my purposes. It doesn't obscure them, but makes the stack more attractive. Pros - heavy and thick, very durable - holds many benefits - good value for money - really brightens up my tables - well, heaviness might be a deal breaker for some people
