Solving the problem with the remote control.

Best investment I've ever made. Now for the repair of the remote control. That's easy. The problem is that APEX misplaced the phototransistor that captures the remote signal. The transistor is partially covered by a square hole in the case. To fix the problem: (1) Remove the plastic window (it's just glued on). You can just omit it (not recommended) or continue with the second step. (2) If you want to replace it, you can find the sensor on the bottom right side of the device. Now, using needle nose pliers or tweezers, CAREFULLY bend the transistor leads to move the face of the transistor closer to the hole. This is not a delicate operation, but it should be done gradually. If you've never worked with electronics before, find someone familiar with such components. (3) Re-stick the front panel with the double-sided adhesive that should remain attached. to your department. If you need more glue, you can use regular rubber cement. Your range should be about 3-5 times greater than before! That's all. APEX is a great device (mine has been in daily use for almost 3 years and works perfectly. Too bad the quality control didn't find this sensor drift issue!
