protects against cold!

I have 2 very old windows that are very bad in winter. They usually get covered in ice (from the inside!) it's that bad. I installed them in November (now February). This weekend we had lows of -18Β°F and no ice formation. The glass is just a little cold. I used the tape that came with the kit. I'm pointing this out because I remember other reviews saying something else to use, but I've had no trouble installing this and it's been 3 months now. I need this for 2 more and I fully expect they…

Seems promising

I've tried various products to keep the wind out of my windows (foam barrier, strong tape, etc.). So I decided to try this kit. I installed it today and it already looks promising, I can't feel the wind anymore. Although it says to apply it from the outside, I did it from the inside of my windows (tip: clean your windows before applying the film). Of course, measure your window before cutting the film, leaving an extra inch just in case. The film is two inches larger than my window measurements

Does what it promises.: Weatherproof

Rubbing alcohol was used to clean the frame. It is available, inexpensive and dries quickly. Very fast. For the shrink wrap I used a heat gun (I had it handy). Be careful when sticking the foil. It is very thin and breaks easily. A small crack is not the end of the world (of course it would be better without) Installed on every widow in the basement. The area has gone from one of the coldest to one of the warmest (I have temp sensors all over the house). If installed correctly, you can find…

This is the brand you need

Let me start this review by saying I've tried 2 different brands of window insulation kits this year and the 3M brand outperforms other brands. I ordered three sets that fit the window: 2 sets from another popular brand and one set from 3M. To put it bluntly, the other brand sucked. The foil was about as thick as plastic wrap and would rip like a bag of potato chips if you breathed on it the wrong way - horrible product. The 3M kit was a no-brainer! Easy to move around during installation, very

Very impressive performance/durability AND very easy removal

October 2019: Purchased this product to cover large screens for old, large insulated windows in an apartment (30" x 50") . Was a little surprised it's not the shrink type I've used for interiors before. But the product was easy to install (took me about 15 minutes per screen), was able to stretch the folds slightly, and had no problems with the plastic unrolling/peeling off. Double-sided tape was actually enough for 3 of my windows, for two plastic windows. I have yet to make some larger…

Save Your Money - Weather Protection

We've been using 3M Window Insulation Kits on our interior windows for years and we know how to install them properly, what surfaces to use for tape etc, but with when we moved to a new house , where the blinds are installed in double window frames, we decided to use these outdoor kits so that we can use our blinds in winter. It was a futile effort. In total we insulated four windows, three of them on an aluminum window frame which provides a smooth surface with no tricky corners to glue and an
