Great while it worked

Just what I needed to put my vinyl to cd. Was great while it lasted, cd player/recorder jammed 2 months after warranty ended. But still can transfer vinyl to my laptop with supplied factory cord, also works for cassette. Upon doing research, this seems to be a common problem with this unit. FYI, probably transferred over 150 albums to cd before the cd drawer jammed shut. Everything else still works & still jamming & transferring music

 • No
Cons
 • Some users have reported difficulty with the recording function, resulting in incomplete or distorted recordings

Not bad considering the gaudy & junky alternatives.

This unit is not bad for its cost (paid $270) and I would have given this product 5 starts but I took a half-star off for the unit having no tone controls and another half-star off because the CD player's sound is noticeably muffled as if the speakers suddenly had a pair of athletic socks stuffed in their cones. As for the bass, it's almost too much for my listening taste and is quite impressive coming out of those little speakers. The cassette player is crystal clear and has auto-stop in the…

WOW! A class act from the get-go.

When the box arrived, it was very well-packed. The envelopes containing cords and antennae had easy-open tape seals. There weren't bothersome bits of Styrofoam flying around. It was easy to assemble the unit, and the quick-start instructions got me going fast. Any worries I had about the sound quality dissolved when my Santana disc started playing. It sounds great! The unit is plenty loud for foreground music in a room. The CD tray opens and closes smoothly without hesitation. The buttons and…

DOES ITS JOB THE BEST IT CAN WHICH IS PRETTY GOOD

I recently had computer issues and lost my Musicmatch Jukebox Plus option to record vinyl and cassettes to CD, so I invested in this unit. I just received it today and I have already recorded one vinyl album. It's fairly easy to get going in the recording process but here is why I rated is only as "it's okay": 1)With my Musicmatch Jukebox I used an amp which brought out the bass in the records quite well. The final recorded sound is pretty good but this unit just doesn't seem to generate the…

Pros
 • Featuring bass-reflex type speakers to boost low frequencies, the LP-R550USB is ideal for both recording and listening to music.
Cons
 • The device may require frequent repairs or maintenance to keep it running smoothly

Number 1 performance.

First thing, I gave this a 5 star rating for performance. But instead of recieving a black recorder which is what I ordered, I recieved the walnut color. I love it anyway. This machine is truly remarkable. Easy to learn. Just read the easy to understand manual and away you go. Cassette player has virtually no flutter so recordings are nice and smooth. I'm finding it almost better to manually track my recordings, that is if you don't mind sitting with the player, and only because of the vinyl. I

Pros
 • Remote control provided as standard to control functions at a distance from the unit
Cons
 • The price point may be a bit too high for what the product offers

Unit arrived promptly, well-packaged. Unfortunately, it is missing the dust cover/lid shown in the picture. I left a message with Revain requesting the cover, but no response at all a week later. So I am leaving my feedback here. Perhaps that will prompt a response! I looked in Revain for a cover that could be purchased separately, but none is listed. Apart from the missing cover, the unit works well. I successfully recorded an old cassette tape of my mother playing the piano and singing her…

Cons

Best Choice in this Category

I first bought the Electrohome Signature, it looked great but sounded terrible. This Teac sounds outstanding and Aux input/output open it up to attach additional devices. For example, there is no place to attach a 2mm patch cord to plug in and play music from your phone (kinda dumb, why not have built in Bluetooth), so I ordered a 20 dollar Esinkin Bluetooth Audio Adapter that plugs into the right/left aux rca input allowing me to play music from my phone wirelessly. This unit also looks nice…

Fantastic Product WITH LIMITATIONS

I have had this equipment since 1 Feb 2017. We Bought it to record our extensive LP Collection to CD's. This is a fantastic product. I've already transferred to CD's 86 LP's without a single problem. We're very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone that wants to preserve their record collection to CD's. Only about 300 more LP's to go. I'll update when I finish this project. UPDATE 3/22/2017This is a great product. Straight forward and easy to use. It records to CD what it…

So versatile, and easy to operate

If you are looking for a terrific all-in-one recorder, this is it. Naturally, the speakers are not great for listening, but I expected that. The recordings I have made on CD are absolutely excellent, and it is so easy to use. I will probably not make tapes, or use some of the features, but they are all there. I had bought a Crosley, and it did not play my albums at the proper speed. I returned that, and got this, and it is way superior. I can also make CDs from my laptop, but needed an RCA…

 • The device does not offer any advanced features, like Bluetooth connectivity or online streaming capabilities

I bought this in 2019, but only used it a little bit in the first month or so. I like to wait longer before reviewing a fairly expensive electronic item.Work & COVID kept me overseas for 18 months in 2020 - mid 2021.Now I'm back home and finally making time to digitize many if my old LPs & cassettes. This has been a great product. The sound quality has been better than expected. (My old stereo had 30 inch high floor speakers. I wasn't sure these small built-in speakers in the unit would sound…

Pros
 • Cassette player with high normal tape positions
Cons
 • The device is not very durable and may need to be replaced after a few years of use

The sound isn't the greatest, but for it's size and for internal speakers, it is "good for it's class". I just wanted a small portable record player for the bedroom. yet, I wanted it to have a dust cover, I wanted to be able to close the dust cover over a playing record, and also to be able to leave a record covered so I wouldn't have to put it back in the jacket cover right away. I wanted a decent bass sound out of the speakers, and a radio as well. I also wanted a name brand. This…

Pros

Love it, love it, love it!

I absolutely love this! I've been trying to figure out how to digitize my 50-year-old vinyl collection for years without having to go thru a computer and this fits the bill perfectly. It took me a few blank discs to work out the order of the steps (because the instructions suck) but it's all smooth sailing now. I really like the input volume/record level control because some of those 60s tunes were recorded so loud they distort. It's also nice having an integrated cassette player so that I can…

Pros
 • TEAC
Cons
 • The cassette deck is outdated and largely unnecessary

Pretty Reliable Beast

I was worried about my cassette tapes wearing off before me, I tried Teac Ad-RW-900 (2 copies)without warranty with disappointing results. Now this device was the third Teac, from Revain & with warranty. I've only recorded from tapes to music CD's. So far, so good. It does the job, as far as I've tried. The most important point is that when you choose the automatic tracking, I think the best choice is -30 db. At -20 db it will give you too many track numbers. So that you may reach the 99th…

Pros
 • The cassette turntable that comes with the Teac LP-R550USBB CD Recorder is perfect for rediscovering all those old mixtapes and classic albums that you thought were lost to time. You can relive all your memories and experience that warm, authentic sound that only vinyl and cassette tapes can deliver
Cons
 • The device's aesthetics may not appeal to everyone, featuring a somewhat dated design

Solid unit with many features

Overall the product works as advertised. It is underpowered unless it is very quiet in the listening room when using turntable and I have used powered speakers on the aux output to generate acceptable volume.

Pros
 • RCA pin jack auxiliary input/output terminals let you easily connect other audio devices.
Cons
 • The turntable can be sensitive and difficult to use, especially for those who are not experienced with vinyl records

Revainrating 4 out of 5

For the money, not very impressive sound-wise, but.

I purchased this unit so I could convert old LPs and tapes to CDs or MP3s. The Teac LP-R550USB looks pretty good and the turntable is adequate. The sound, however is very flat and one-dimensional. I tested it playing an old LP and then a brand new one. In each case, the sound from the built-in speakers is unimpressive (more on that in a moment). CDs sound a bit better, but not so much that I'd give the unit a 5-star rating. There are no "tone" controls on the unit, only volume. The tape player…

then restarted it again like I did on my old one

Very satisfactory for recording from vinyl to CD. I asked about auto-tracking before I bought it and got mixed answers. I am replacing an old recorder and with that unit you had to hover over the phono to catch it at the end of a song, stop the recorder, reset the needle at the end of the prior song and restart the recording for the next track. This one allows you to end a track and begin the next track with your remote. With most albums this worked perfectly, but I recorded one album that had…
