This product is durable, made of medal, but the problem is that is too heavy for the adhesive provided. You could screw it to the window but that will damage the frame. I could not used it.

Using these to keep my sliding bedroom window tight against my window air conditioner block off plate. I bought two of them to keep the top and bottom of the window pressing against the plate. Works great, easy to use, and these things are really solid and relatively easy to adjust. Very happy with them.

So far this bar is working great. I have had it installed for a week and it hasn't wiggled loose or anything.Instead of using the provided velcro strips, I attached command strips to the bar for easier removal from the window.The only issue I had with installation was making sure that the open half of the window was being pushed down firmly enough on the air conditioner to get the bar fully secured. Great! Glad to find one small enough to accommodate my little windows. Did not need to use the adhesive strips provided.

Just what I needed. I have vertical sliding windows and want the fresh air but don’t want someone to be able to climb in the window. I didn’t adhere it to the sill because I rent an apartment, but this size is perfect for my windows a person could not reach it to remove it.

Pluses:easy to install, comes with adhesive strips but I didn’t use them. Keeps the window secure.I gave it three stars though because the size is incorrect in the description. As shown in the attached picture, the minimum length is 9.5 inches, not 7 3/4 inches. I wasn’t able to use this for a smaller window.

Good to use for extra security! Just measure the distance before purchasing the correct size for your window/sliding door. The item is adjustable within limits.

The minimum extension is NOT 7/34", it's 9.5" ! I needed to fill a 9" gap, which is why I purchased this. Even if you remove the screw and rubber stopper, it is nowhere near the stated size. Thanks, Jeacent.Made in China, of course.

The item claims to be adjustable between 7 3/4” and 14 3/8”. From the attached photo you can clearly see that even in its most retracted position it measures over 9 inches ! A bit of a shame as this item seemed fairly sturdy and would have met my needs if the dimensions were as stated in the item description.

I purchased this to secure my window that has my A/C in it. I measured the space beforehand and this bar is way too small for my window. The bar only goes up to 12 inches. If it were 14 3/8 like it says in the description, it would be good but it's not.

Makes me feel much safer having this. Metal material feels sturdy and the width fits into my window track. I recommend taking measurements to ensure it will fit well for your window too

This thing is tiny. Doesn’t fit standard window unit ACs. Completely useless. Make sure you measure before you buy. That's my review!

I got these for our window units to make sure that the window stays shut around the unit (we did not screw the unit into place since we have vinyl windows). The lock bar was easy to install, seems very sturdy, and does what you need it to do.

If you have a tiny window .a cottage tiny type of window , it might work for you. Measure your window before you purchase this item . It's a very small stick

Arrived in a very stinky bag. Very musty. Probably used. This kind of thing is unacceptable for revain. I would never find such a stench at a department store. Had to wipe it down with Clorox wipes. Otherwise the product works and helps secure my window.

Measurements are not accurate. The metal bar part is 8 3/8” long on its shortest setting, then the rubber foot adds another 1 3/8” inch. It doesn’t fit my 8 1/2” window space.

Unfortunately, this does not go down to the specified 7 3/4inch. I needed one to fit a 9 inch space. I ordered this because it was the only one that advertised that it could fit such a small gap. However, even on the lowest setting it does not fit.

What’s not to like? It’s added security, easy to set-up, & looks and feels professionally made of strong materials. This is all I’ll buy for added window security at my apartment!

i live in the city and im a single woman blah blah blah you know how this story goes. wanted something to feel a little extra secure during the summer months when i put in the a/c unit and someone would just have to break the damn window if they wanted to get in that bad.

I used this in the upper portion of my window with an A/C unit in the bottom which kept me from being able to lock the window. With a little bit of an adjustment it fit perfectly. It is expandable exactly as described. You can pull it apart and also loosen the screw for the rubber grip on the bottom if you need a bit more length. Feeling much safer now!
