As pictured, my average aged washing machine handled a king size quilt well and is very comfortable to sleep under. Washable in cold water on gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Bought the king bed to match the queen to hang over the sides of the bed. The pattern is stitched with patches and looks great. Time will tell how it holds up. So far very happy with the quality, color and feel of this blanket! Update 11/25/19: Still holding up and has survived 3 washes without fading and I now prefer it to the duvet on the bed. I live in upstate New York where we can have 90 days in the summer and single digit temperatures (including freezing) in the winter. The duvet is comfortable all year round (air-conditioned house 20°C in winter / 72° in summer). But I put a blanket underneath for the winter. I hope you find this useful.
