I use this mount with my iPhone Xs for mountain biking on rough trails and the phone has never come loose even after small jumps. I partially undid it after the crash, but it didn't come out of the corner straps. I love that I can use my route planning app and Strava and use all the features of my phone while getting rid of an old bike computer with limited functionality. I liked mine so much I gave it to my son and daughter who also ride bikes with me. Both like the upgrade from the old bike computer. The hinge needs to be tight to keep your phone from tipping, but this can be achieved by gently twisting it with pliers (wrap a rag around the screw to protect the plastic and don't over-tighten).
