Incredibly evil best for portable audio and video

I really needed this thing as evidence in court and I recorded absolutely NOTHING. I tested it yesterday and my minute test worked. Then today I turned it on, the record light came on, literally 5 seconds of recording. Also, I plugged the USB stick into my computer to see if I could physically find the rest of the recording and even my "test" wouldn't load or play. Windows is not supported. As a result, I will never go for something cheap and versatile again for anything important. I am so angry and it will definitely come back.
