Great entry level calculator.

So, to get straight to the point - this is NOT a gaming PC (more on that later) 1.) Well packaged, undamaged during shipping - always a bonus, power supply unit, USB keyboard and mouse. 3.) The only document in the box was a 1-page illustrated instruction how to hook it up, but that's not surprising considering how computers are packaged these days. especially the cheaper ones.4.). There's no annoying sticker on the case that says something like "If you open this you'll void your warranty" which is good because I opened that bad boy up right away, fly! 5.) Easy to open case - only two screws, with good access to slots etc (see image). 6.) Specs are decent: Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.8GHz, 6 cores, 300W, switchable PSU, 12GB DDR4 in 2 slots, no other free memory slots - max supported 32GB DVD RW (it's a 2 GB hard drive - Toshiba DT01ACA200 ( 7200rpm) / SATA 6Gb/s controllerInternal space above existing hard drive for another hard drive or SSD with open slotsIntel UHD Graphics 630 (shared storage)Wireless 802.11acGigabit Ethernet1 PCIx 16Rear - 2 x HDMI , VGA, 4 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, Ethernet, SoundFront panel - SD card reader, USB C, red/always hot USB 3.1, another USB 3.1, headphone slot, microphone slot7 .) Very easy setup, minimal setup screens, easy setup of monitor, Peripherals, etc. (after driver update). everything is very, very simple these days. You simply "complete" the installation by linking it to your account/creating an account. Acer's preload is fairly thin here, with a bare minimum of additional software added to Windows 10 Home Edition. You do the job and everything. This was to be expected. I've had computers that cost three times as much and came with similar accessories. Also, for me, many of Windows 10's most annoying privacy and sharing features are already disabled by the factory preload. Hooray! Also, Firefox came pre-installed, which is good if you like Firefox. Performance, as you would expect, is pretty fast. The new 8th Gen Intel processors are excellent: the i5-8400 here is about as fast as the previous generation Core i7-7700, which is now the processor in my main desktop. Insanity! In addition, it is a very quiet system, especially without a large built-in GPU, which is only satisfied with integrated Intel graphics. And therefore a note on gaming: This is not a gaming PC. 300W isn't really enough these days. So if you install even one Geforce GTX 1060, you'll need to upgrade your PSU. It's a small job, but it's something to keep an eye on. The only thing you can improve on this system is putting in a 2.5 inch SSD. Even a 120GB hard drive to boot the operating system can make a LOT of difference, as Toshiba's rotating hard drive is the bottleneck here for the rest of the fast system. For the price of this computer, I don't hold that against Acer, though. for the money and gets a high recommendation from me. 5 out of 5 stars. Excellent multipurpose work system.
