"The use of SATA hard drives on SAS controllers is made possible because they use the same infrastructure and have similar functions. SATA drives can be connected to SAS controllers. SAS drives cannot be connected to SATA controllers ". This is direct from the Seagate website. I have a Seagate SAS drive that I tried to access with this adapter but it was not recognized by the computer. The last sentence explains why. It's almost as if this product was built under false pretenses.
