annoy; not as good as the original

I bought the original device about a year and a half ago and I really liked it. As a chronic pain sufferer, I wanted to use a regular TENS machine on my neck. But I could never align the pads properly and after a short while they fell off. As a result, I received an unwanted shock and the massage couldn't last long enough to be of any use. The SKG massager is the answer to this problem: it uses the same technology as the TENS machine, but is specially designed for the neck. Instead of sticky pads that fall off and need constant replacement, the electrodes are permanently attached to the device. It is, and they are always in perfect alignment. This device also does not give me strong electric shocks. It was one of the best devices for my neck pain. And since I really liked this device, I took the second one. But I didn't know they changed it! Despite being the same shape and size, there are some discouraging differences. 1) modes. Both devices only have 3 modes to choose from. What was previously known as the M1, M2, and M3 has been replaced with a daily program, a rest program, and an exercise program. Unfortunately, this was not just a name change, but also a change in how the modes were operated. my love is gone I loved the M1 because it offered fast tapping with longer swing. This helped my neck pain the most as it allowed for a deeper and more intense massage. The new modes focus more on being relaxing, calming and gentler. This may be fine for some people, but I have benefited more from a deeper massage. So it was a big disappointment for me. 2) The magnet on the controller is weaker. As a result, the controller doesn't stay in place properly. It turns and falls easier. Even with slight movements. The old device had a stronger magnet and the controller held up better. 3) A better change is that the new model is lighter. I weighed the new 174.5g and the original 184.1g. To be honest I don't feel a big difference. 4) Another change is that they have provided two accessories. Two different types of gel patches that reduce the intensity of the electronic impulse. I don't care as I always run the device to full power but for the more sensitive it might help. 5) I think the manual is better too. It is geared more towards the English speaking audience than the previous one. But even that is a small thing. Unfortunately, the annoying loud beep hasn't been fixed. It beeps when you press the button, turn on or off, add heat, switch modes, and increase or decrease intensity. There's no way to turn off the beep, let alone turn down the volume. If you use the device in the office, you can annoy your colleagues. If you use it at home, it may disturb your family, especially at night. While it's nice to know that the device responds to button presses, I want to control the volume. I tried covering the hole with a piece of tape but that didn't mitigate the shrill noise. The best I've found is to cover the area with your hand when adjusting, but it's still not ideal. The build quality of both devices is generally pretty good. The only thing that happened was that the thin plastic covering the edges of the electrodes broke off, but that doesn't affect the comfort and usability of the device. It's just a blemish. I think it's only a matter of time before this breaks on a newer device as well. In conclusion, I give this device 3 stars only because of the lack of intensity in the modes and the bad controller magnet. I was particularly disappointed that my favorite mode was removed. It's still a good device and decently finished. For those who don't need a more intense massage, this could be a good option. Just not for people like me with severe neck pain.
