Realistic candles are best for new lighting.
The remote control only works with large and medium sized candles, not with small candles. Batteries in tiny candles don't last long, so buy plenty of quarter-size batteries to keep in reserve. I love how it flickers so real and gives off a bright light. Haven't used it outdoors but probably will in the future. I like that the battery door of all sizes is easy to open and doesn't need to be screwed down. I haven't used the timer function yet.
