Unfortunately, this "travel mug" for tea does not allow drinking directly from the mug. The only way to do this is to drink straight from a stainless steel mug. Anyone who has ever had hot coffee or tea from a metal container will tell you that it is not the most pleasant experience. In addition, the elaborate design of the lid seems rather pointless. The lid was three separate pieces that fit together and as far as I can tell there is no functional purpose to this design. A hard cap would achieve the same goal. Even better, they could use their standard flip top with spout (like their SM-KHE48) and it would be the perfect travel mug for tea drinkers. From the looks of it, this is a good vacuum insulated brewer if that's what you're looking for. I wouldn't buy it as a travel mug.
