Review on Narrow Baby Gate Cat Door Safety by Chantelle Mills

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Stable, well made, cat clasp is a bit short.

If you know exactly what size you need, get one of these Fairy Babies. If you can move the gate to other doors, get one in a larger range of sizes. Those with a larger selection come with a few extra sections for different widths. This is a standard fence/gate size with additional adjustments using clamp screws on the ends. I have 4 different children's gates for dog restricted areas. Narrow Fairybaby cat door screen, Fairy Baby 65" cat door screen, Munchkin 35-45 mesh screen and Carlson Step Over (Journey) mesh screen. Pressure gates are the best. They are all pretty strong, well made and will not damage wooden door frames. Good on a drywall too. These Fairy Baby Gates came with large padded wall cups which are great for the top sewing feet but not the bottom ones It's better to buy rectangular cups with a flat rim so your gate can stand on or near the ground .Also comes with fall protection for tripping around your home. There are two slide rails to keep the connecting sections straight.Put them on first. Also resist the urge to cut off the top of the zipper that keeps the gate closed prior to installation. Even though it has a thick zipper and a huge "do not cut until installation is complete" label, I cut it every time s time up. A bit fiddly to assemble but solid and firmly in place. Capable of keeping 80lb Labs off cat food. The bottom latch holds very well and can be opened by slightly lifting the door. The top latch should squeeze the handle and thumb latch together at the same time. Since we don't have kids, we don't tighten the top latch for ease of opening and closing. My only criticism is that the cat gate could have been higher. Kittens have to crouch to slip in, which is a bit more difficult for older kittens.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Steel Frame --- The white finish of this baby gate blends seamlessly into any home decor and its heavy duty steel construction is built to last! It can protect up to 202 pounds from hits with Husky, Alaska, etc.
