I have a terribly difficult time finding shoes that don't cause me a great deal of pain because I have a lump in my big toe joint, not the more common lump that sticks out on the side. Any pressure on the upper part of this bone causes severe pain. Because these shoes have adjustable straps at the top of the foot, I can loosen them enough that they don't hurt anymore! In addition, these shoes are timeless! They are very well done. I have had the same sandals in a different color for at least 5 years and have been wearing them constantly for over half a year. (I live in Arizona where it's warm.) They still look like new. The insole doesn't usually get dirty like other sandals, and if it does, you can simply wipe it off with a soapy cloth. I really love these sandals!
