This was once a top product that our cats loved. We have just replaced the old boxes as they have worn out and the design has changed and this is such a disappointment. Our cats have basically stopped using them. Size - Boxes are now approximately 1.5 inches smaller in width and depth. Undoubtedly a cost-cutting measure. Not only did this make the boxes narrower for cats, but it also changed the design of the holes (my next point). Hole Design Change - Previously, the holes at the top and bottom of the boxes were smaller. & to the side, allowing cats to either sit comfortably in the box or move up and down between stacked boxes. Now the hole is right in the middle, and since the boxes are smaller, the hole can't be punched and allow the cat to sit comfortably (either one or the other). There's also really no way not to make a hole as the perforation is such that our cat jumped on the box and pushed it through. Uglier - the previous design looked better with round holes. Now if you want a round hole (instead of an octagonal one) you have to push the perforation through and the round hole is very big and doesn't offer cat privacy, especially since the boxes are smaller.
