I thought I would be disappointed if they discontinued the MLX pen and also wondered why the Shibat needle is more expensive than the micro line but after I said so had read many reviews that shibata was said to sound better so i decided to give it a try. I have an MLX stylus in good condition that I use as a reference when I think it's time to replace what I'm using (it's time to replace the 150sa). Well I still love the sound of this MLx but once I fitted the BMH50S and set the downforce to 2 grams I was blown away! Bass is full and rich, mids sound open, each instrument has its own space and depth, and highs are crisp and clear with no hiss or distortion. This is the best my system has ever sounded.
