My wife is a sewing enthusiast and loved this piece until it broke less than a year later. She only used it 3 or 4 hours a week. I have found that the problem is in the wire going through the hinge which is broken. Not a good design at all. The wire is too short and the loop only broke the wire with normal use. The broken cable can be seen in the photo. Update: ASF Lightware Solutions gets an A for customer service for sending my wife a replacement lamp for free. If the new one holds up better I'll raise the stars and we'll assume the first one had a manufacturing defect.
