Love this light! I use it for knitting, spinning, other crafts and reading. Even with batteries, it is light and handy. I forgot it was there except for the wonderful light that is there! I even used it to walk to my car in the dark. I didn't buy a power cord for it, but I'm glad to know it's available. I've been using it almost every day since September and it's still running on my first set of batteries. Qualitative and worthy. It will be a great gift for those who read or do crafts!

I have used Beam 'N Read lights for many years. They were all great and this one is no exception. I use it every night. The overheard light causes migraines so I don't turn it on and use this light for knitting and reading. The filters are fantastic - really reduce eye strain. It uses a lot of battery power, but six lights uses a lot of power, so that wasn't a surprise. I loved my flashlight and used it for everything from walking the dog to sewing to reading. Unfortunately after a few months it stopped working. I emailed the resulting website and, to my surprise, received a quick, very helpful response. I provided some additional information and then got a response that they sent me a new light, which they did! Love this light, it's a great hands-free supplemental light for any task you might need it for. I can't say enough about how pleasant the company was.

My wife is a sewing enthusiast and loved this piece until it broke less than a year later. She only used it 3 or 4 hours a week. I have found that the problem is in the wire going through the hinge which is broken. Not a good design at all. The wire is too short and the loop only broke the wire with normal use. This is my second ray and I love it! This 6 LED lantern was an absolute lifesaver during yesterday's hurricane. We were without electricity for 6 days and I only used it around the house at night. Bought for red light filter. This is so important when you read at night. It is also helpful not to disturb your spouse. I love light for bead projects. But I bought Beam and Read on July 10th and today, July 22nd, one of the lightbulbs stopped working. The light can still only be used with 5 bulbs but I am very disappointed that I paid for this light. I find that the bulb should last a little longer than 12 days. I bought this item in June 2018, just after Thanksgiving in November 2018, it broke. It went like this for 5 months. I used it at night to avoid disturbing my husband watching TV in the dark while I crochet. I wish it wouldn't break and last longer but I'll buy another one. I use it for crafting and love it. Over the years I've tried different lighting solutions, some of which have worked mediocre, most of which have been poor. That's all I need - a speakerphone, a very light adjustable neck strap for the right position. I suggest you take it a step further and buy an extra power kit so you can plug it in and not worry about how fresh your batteries are.
