I use it for crafting and love it. Over the years I've tried different lighting solutions, some of which have worked mediocre, most of which have been poor. That's all I need - a speakerphone, a very light adjustable neck strap for the right position. I suggest you take it a step further and buy an extra power kit so you can plug it in and not worry about how fresh your batteries are. My only complaint about Beam n Read is that it goes from full brightness to "why can't I see anything?" very quickly when the batteries are running low. That doesn't bother me in the product rating, because it would be unfair to anything that is battery operated. The extra power adapter comes with a 6-foot extension cord, so you don't have to be next to an outlet to use it.
